Wraparound Care at The Vale Academy. 

We understand that family life can be busy, especially with primary school children. Our wraparound care provision offers a safe, supportive and engaging environment for children before and after the school day, helping to make mornings smoother and afternoons more flexible, supporting our families in our local community. 

What we offer:

At The Vale Academy, we provide:

  • Breakfast Club before school
  • Afterschool Club at the end of the day

Our provision is open to all pupils and is run by familiar, experienced school staff in a safe and welcoming environment.

The Breakfast Club runs from 7:45am to 8:30am.

The Afterschool Club runs from 3:15pm to 5:30pm.
At the end of the school day, your child’s class teacher will take them directly to the club once their class has been dismissed.

Available Sessions & Prices (per child)

  • Morning Club: 7:45 - 8:45am - £4.75
  • Session 1: 3:15–4:15pm — £4.75 
  • Session 2: 3:15–5:30pm — £8.75
  • Session 3 Bolt on: 4:00–5:30pm — £5.75

The Afterschool Club closes at 5:30pm. 

If you have selected Session 1 and are late collecting your child, the session will be amended to Session 2. If your child is not collected by 5:30pm a charge of £1.00 per minute for each child will be issued.

Children must be booked into Breakfast Club or Afterschool Club 48hrs before the child care is required, through your Arbor account. This is so staff know the numbers of pupils to expect and appropriate staffing levels can be provided.

Payment for this facility must be made in advance. 

It is unlikely that the Club will be able to accommodate last minute childcare requirements. If you do require last minute Breakfast or Afterschool club, please contact Miss Baptiste on the contact details below. Please note that messages left via voicemail will not be checked.

Our wraparound care is designed to be both enjoyable and relaxing. Children can take part in a range of activities, including:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Games and sports and free play activities
  • Homework station
  • Reading and quiet time
  • Social time with friends

Whether it’s a calm start to the morning or a fun way to unwind after school, there’s something for everyone.

Children can choose what they would like to do from the activities on offer. All children will be encouraged to take part in the physical activity for a short part of their time in the club.

We are pleased to offer the following foods at our Breakfast Club:

  • Cereal
  • Toast
  • Bagels
  • Yoghurt
  • Selection of fruit
  • Apple or Orange juice

We do not currently offer a snack at our Afterschool Club. Please ensure that you provide your child/ren with a healthy snack to keep your child going until tea time! 

All monies for Breakfast and Afterschool are expected to be paid before your child/ren attends. This must be done via Arbor or by card at the main office. Non-payment MAY result in this facility being withdrawn for the child.

If you cancel a booking giving 24 hours’ notice to Miss Baptiste, your child’s place can be moved to an alternative day with no loss of money. Less than 24 hours’ notice will result in full payment as staff costs etc., have already been accounted for.

If your child is attending an afterschool activity before attending childcare, parents will be charged the Bolt on session. A member of staff will collect your child at the end of the club and escort them to the canteen for childcare.
